Bieber’s Year of Change: Fatherhood, Faith, and Emotional Posts

Justin Bieber has once again found himself at the center of drug use, sobriety, and personal freedom discussions without uttering a single word. On Sunday, the singer reshot a video clip on Instagram, in which the late rapper DMX can be seen confronting host Iyanla Vanzant on his lack of interest in staying sober. The 31-year-old pop star shared a few-second video on Sunday from the Gassy account, which is a Los Angeles-based marijuana dispensary.

The shot features a conversation between Vanzant and DMX from 2013’s episode of Iyanla: Fix My Life. In the scene, the life coach poses the question to the rapper if he wants to be a “clean man.” “No weed, no drinking, nothing? Why would I?” he asked. Iyanla Vanzant then explains the goal of this process to help the musician stay sober so he can be “a clear, pure vessel for the voice of God.” “I think I’m exactly where I need to be with God,” the rapper replied.

Justin Bieber simply reshot this video with no further explanation. The choice did not leave fans wondering whether he was pushing his perspective on sobriety and spirituality or was simply reposting something he resonated with. The recent media buzz around his life, along with his known spiritual position, only added to the storm of different people’s take on the matter and posts on the Internet.

Faith, Family, and Shifting Priorities

Justin Bieber is a very religious person. He has been clear about his deep faith in Christianity and his relationship with Churchome pastor Judah Smith over the years. His spiritual beliefs have been an essential part of his public persona and journey through stardom as he became an adult, married Hailey, and recently father.

The couple welcomed their first child, Jack Blues Bieber, about a year ago. As representatives stated, fatherhood has shifted Bieber’s perspective significantly. He is currently primarily focused on family, new music, and purging life from people and business contacts that don’t share his values.

In recent months, social media users have grown increasingly concerned about his looks and well-being. As reported by The Guardian, a few images that have appeared on the singer’s account, including one that featured bongs and smoke, have sent fans into overdrive. Social media users are worried, as his appearance is a change from the spruced-up look in his 2023 Super Bowl appearance.

However, Bieber’s team has been clear that he is “in one of the best places in his life,” and reps have denied rumors of substance abuse multiple times. A rep also told TMZ in February that the recurring narrative about Justin using hard drugs is not true. This comment came a few days after the singer did not show up at the Son Las Vegas stop of his Justice World Tour and skipped a planned meet-and-greet at the Pearl in Las Vegas.

Bieber recently canceled the rest of his Justice World Tour in 2022 after the musician cited his deteriorating health as the main reason for the cancellation. On the off chance that he has a new tour in 2024, it would be his first in two years. Bieber’s representatives also recently announced that the singer is on the lookout for a new management team after recently parting ways with Scooter Braun.

Justin Bieber’s Reps Shut Down Drug Abuse Rumors

Fans are left to hope for Bieber to grace the stage again as he has reportedly made comments about his excitement to do so. On July 11, Bieber released the highly anticipated Swag, which was his seventh studio album. It did not take long for the album to reach Billboard’s number one position. As he explained in the lyrics and message of his new album, Swag became a way for the artist to reflect, analyze, and process his feelings, private and professional life, and the challenges he has been through.

It has a mix of mature introspection and jokes on being newly married and his child. Bieber included comedic interludes between his songs with internet personality Druski. Short segments are a mock therapy session where Druski humorously and playfully questions Bieber on his life, emotions, and anxieties as one of the most popular artists in the world. It’s safe to say that the humor was Bieber’s way of poking fun at himself.

In the album, the singer mentioned his past demons, love for his wife, and responsibilities as a parent, which has been an overarching theme in many of his recent interviews. It seems that for Bieber, the album is a way to work through these things in addition to being as authentic as possible with his audience. It has been less than a week since the album’s release, and fans are not sure whether Bieber will be touring to support it.

However, given its success and the immense promotion the rapper is already putting into it, many fans believe there is an excellent chance Bieber will be touring Australia in 2024. Of course, neither the singer nor Frontier Touring confirmed any news. Rolling Stone reached out to Frontier Touring for confirmation, and the response was that the company currently has no information on this matter.

Fans of Justin Bieber Wait for News

It appears that it would take a very official announcement to quiet the Twitter uproar over Bieber’s post, as his next tour is speculated to be with Britney Spears or Nicki Minaj. For now, Justin Bieber seems to be dedicated to remaining himself, recording music that reflects his current priorities, and being there for his family. Whether he was sending a coded message of personal freedom, being in line with his spirit, or was just reshooting an interesting video, his followers were listening.
